The first Divine Liturgy

On Sunday 10th April 2011 we celebrated in our newly built and newly opened Church the first Divine Liturgy. It was an Archiepiscopal Liturgy.

His Eminence Archbishop Gregorios of Thyateira and Great Britain presided over it.

His Eminence Metropolitan Bishop Georgios of Paphos took part in it, along with Archimandrite Vassileios, our Parish Priest Fr. Anastasios and two deacons.

Many of our Parishioners attended the Holy Service and received the Holy Gifts.

The Deputy Mayor of the London Borough of Barnet Cllr. Lisa Rutter was present also.

At the end of the Service the President of our Community Mr. Pantelis Demosthenous welcomed everyone and offered thanks to all those who had assisted in the fundraising for the new Church.

Then the Archbishop offered a special thanksgiving plaque to the Great Benefactor Mrs. Penelope Anastasi for her generous contribution towards the fundraising.

After the Divine Liturgy everybody was invited to a reception in the Community Hall, where the Ladies of the Community offered Lenten food and Greek hospitality.
