Christmas Dinner

Tonight we had our Christmas Dinner at Sea Pebbles Restaurant at Hatch End.

The owners Savvas & Maria Andreou and their family had offered everything free of charge in support of our Church’s Fundraising.

We had melon for starters and then fish and chips for main course. It was really delicious and we are very thankful to Savvas, his family and their staff for their great contribution.

From the tickets, the raffle etc. We collected £3.500.

The Chairman of the Community Mr. Pantelis Demosthenous gave thanks to Savvas for his kind offering and to everyone for attending this successful event.

The Parish Priest Fr. Anastasios gave thanks to Savvas and congratulated him on his name day, which was yesterday.

He then talked about the name days of Saints in December (this month being called the month of the Saints and Propets); also he talked about the preparation period leading up to Christmas, the main characteristics of which are love and peace. Lastly he talked about the sacred project of building a new Church, which offers to those involved in it special emotions and divine fear.

He specifically emphasised the feeling that our Holy God cooperates with us in the project by offering us excellent weather conditions, although it is winter time, as well as the modern technology which has become available in the recent years as a result of the divine inspiration of designers and engineers.
