Today we remembered at our Church the tragic events of July - August 1974 in Cyprus, and the victims of the barbaric turkish invasion into the Island of the Saints.
We held a Memorial Service and then a member of our Community, Panagiota Georgiou, sang a poem of hers dedicated to the occupied land of Cyprus.
The Mayor of Morfou, Mr. Charalambos Pittas, delivered an interesting patriotic speech and at the end we all sang the Greek National Anthem.
After the end of the Holy Service Mr. Andreas Georgiades and his family had offered lunch for the elderly of our Community at our Community Centre.
