Day of Cyprus

Once a year, around the Feast of St. Barnabas the Apostle (11th June), Founder and Patron Saint of the Church of Cyprus, we organise a special celebration in our Community, in order to honour Cyprus, its Apostolic Church and its rich civilisation.

We start with a special Prayer in the Church, followed by a talk and then we have a social gathering at our Community premises, where we enjoy Greek hospitality and we taste delicious souvlakia.

The speaker this year (yesterday, Sunday 14th June 2009) was the Lecturer - Translator and Writer Dr. Zannetos Tofallis, who gave an interesting outline of the History of Cyprus, as well as its literature.
